Barreda is currently exhibiting at Praxis Intemperie, curated by Mariana Rodríguez Iglesias. A title that alludes to human vulnerability, exposure to uncertainty, and the lack of both physical and existential refuge.
How is this translated into her imagery? With her usual rigor, as Barreda is demanding of herself and her quest to show something different and not repeat herself. There are no diptychs or polyptychs; the image is an assemblage of intertwinings that allow for a more direct, yet more complex, interpretation. Barreda detects shapes through the lines; there is a certain iridescence in the triangles that appear, which she uses to show the Dionysian aspect of color, in a certain way, emotional.
