PRESS | Buenos Aires No Duerme | From Rosario to the Big Apple: Luciana Pinchiero defies norms with “Bad Posture” at Praxis New York

Bad Posture by Luciana Pinchiero

Originally from Rosario, Argentina, Luciana has found in the big city a space to express her Queer art, focused on questioning the traditional roles assigned to women through the collage technique.

With an artistic career spanning several years, 41-year-old Luciana Pinchiero moved to New York to hone her artistic skills. The city also provided her with the education she sought, a significant personal discovery: her queer identity . Since then, she has used her art to tell stories that challenge stereotypes and explore the complexity of the female body.

“ I believe that collage has the capacity, from its technique to its perception, to put together a narrative that emerges as a product of several other existing and combined narratives. Being a bit queer is that: transforming the taught, imposed, accepted, binary, heteronormative forms, taking those forms considered “valid, general, and normal” and transforming them into one’s own, chosen, truer, and adapted to one’s own experience. Thus generating community and protection against that which is imposed, that which does not identify us. ” – Luciana Pinchiero .
