A woman with her head painted in shades of blue watches us. Her neck is stylized and she has a necklace that suggests the presence of a non-existent cameo. “Camafeo”, the song by Spinetta Jade, plays while Virasoro paints this image.
A Zen Koan says: “What was your original face like before your parents were born?” There is a time without time in Virasoro’s painting, with planes of smooth colors and very simple lines in which sometimes some strokes even dematerialize. The artist awakens sensations in us where it seems that the worldly noise is suspended. It connects us with a poetic and transcendent world in which anything can happen.
In another painting, a woman is suspended in the sky. Do you have a green stone or eye where the voice is generated? Visual perception and sound here merge in that sky of the magic hour of twilight. It is then when all the senses expand and we even perceive the breeze with our eyes closed.
“I took charge of your light” Aristimuño sings while Virasoro traces with a brush endless lines of a story of mirrors, cameos, trees, eyes and portals that open us to infinity.
