Platz + Sartori | El reflejo de lo intangible

The distant mountains
are reflected in the eyes
of the dragonfly.

Kobayashi Issa (1763-1827)

Material reality surrounds us, however, there is a deeper and more subtle dimension that we cannot touch or see directly: the intangible, and it is here that in its reflection we glimpse something of its order and it becomes a powerful metaphor to understand how the invisible manifests itself in our visible world with all its vital power.

Platz is a seasoned creator of images resonant with the symbolic. His works present an amalgam of two worlds, the one we consider real and the dreamlike. In his works there are representations of architectural forms that are apparently rational but with a deep symbolic meaning. In his work entitled Multidimensionality, layers are superimposed that revere the civilized and also the natural, the dark and the luminous, and in this fold Platz works, at the intersection of opposites, on the edge and on the limit that is generated between the bright and golden plane – the Apollonian and rational – and the organic and dark plot – Dionysian and visceral. A pilgrim of the liminal.

In her lustrous, reflective and voluptuous works, Sartori deploys forms that battle in space to want to be and in that act they are. Forms that contain all forms, sculptures that reflect the archetypal in its most primordial state, in a time without time, in an archaeology of the future. Forms that contain all bodies, in a precise synthesis that runs through its bright yellow surface from Artemisia to Venus, from prehistoric to current. The veneration of the sensitive and vital becomes embodied with its gravity.

The reflection here becomes an act of transposition. What we cannot touch or see is projected onto a surface, transforming into something perceptible, but in a symbolic way. The intangible becomes visible, but not in its pure form, but in an interpretation, in a shadow, in a powerful reflection of the real.
