Nicolás Trombetta y Leonardo Trombetta | Ausente continuo

Artistic dialogue between the photography of Nicolás Trombetta (Buenos Aires, 1972) and the sculpture of Leonardo Trombetta (Buenos Aires, 1968) -Grand Prize for Photography Acquisition 2004, National Hall of Visual Arts- he records his own performances, on the seashore on a Buenos Aires beach, revealing images on the verge of the dreamlike.

While the photographer Nicolás “portrays bodies in continuous transformation, figures that approach imaginaries that we seem to recognize,” the sculptor Leonardo lets “the chance of fire” modify and finish molding his small bronze effigies. In both works, the figures merge and recast. Thus, in Nicolás’s photography the bodies are like changing apparitions in the middle of the sand, while Leonardo’s are also modified by the sand casting process. A loose and tiny fragment of rocks, sand participates in the transformation of the works; Open to contingency, the authors welcome you.
