Julián Brangold | Geofonía

By Julian Brangold

About the sample

Premise A_ Geophony is the set of non-biological audio signals found in various natural spaces. Rain, thunder, wind, pulsars, all these natural phenomena make deeply inspiring sounds.

Premise B_ We live in an era of nature filtration through technological tools, where we slowly blur the line of what is natural, artificial, cultural or biological.

Organization and execution_ Each of the works is made up of three instances:

1- The composition of a sound work, using an audio signal captured in natural space. 2- The processing of this composition through software that interprets the audio wave of the piece, and transforms it into a visual figure. 3- The creation of a painting based on the visual figure that the software provides.
