Daniel Karp | Qué vemos cuando vemos

It is estimated that within not many years the majority of the planet will live in cities. These photographs show the human figure placed on a backdrop that is the embodiment of his own mathematical calculations. Man lives locked in his own mind. A stage where you can confront yourself and your creations; theater, literature, music and the unknowns of being, civility, love and crime. My view on photography is that it has a greater relationship with music and poetry than with truth. The images contain stories that cannot be fully revealed. They harbor intrigues and spark assumptions. What do we see when we see? Children know things before they learn the words with which to name them. They simply smile, shout or cry to interact with them. A series of photographs is like a film where the viewer must intervene to fill in the gaps or, to spy inside each one of them and play in the universe they contain, move the characters, make them jump from one frame to another and build with everything. This is a reality without questions about truth or fiction. It is a simple game of the mind that is part of artistic nature.
