Artist Josefina Concha E. carries forward centuries of Latin American heritage through a communion with crafts and nature. Using plants and animals as her initial inspiration, she was able to find in woven threads the possibility of painting and drawing without depending on those media and instead echoing a tradition that has been transmitted through generations of women. In this exhibition, her art takes shape through a wasteland of natural and fantastic creatures, represented in small volumetric textiles attached to structures that seem to take flight.
