Andrea Santarelli
My work originates in the exploration of my immediate surroundings and is rooted in the experience of inhabiting nature, where the creative power of the earth manifests itself in an evident and meaningful way.
My intention is to immortalize sensations and states through a meticulous process of contemplation, mediated by the senses and guided by a reflective and constant search for meaning. This approach allows me to capture the ephemeral nature of the everyday and transform it into enduring artistic expressions.
The landscape is presented as a changing, flexible, and chaotic space, characterized by its unpredictability. I am particularly interested in exploring the traces left by the seasons of the year, marks that narrate processes of constant transformation. It is in this context that my artistic practice is constructed, through a journey into immensity and a visual exploration that examines the mutation of images, revealing natural cycles as a reflection on life and death.
The duality between the ephemeral and the immortal constitutes a recurring theme in my artistic production. My works aim to generate a dialogue around this tension, highlighting the inherent beauty of the fleeting and the persistence of the essential. In this way, my work emerges as an exploration of the profound and symbolic relationship between humanity and nature from a contemporary perspective.
