The 15th edition of the Abu Dhabi Art Fair, which will take place between November 22 and 26, will feature a special section on Latin America and the Praxis gallery will be the only Argentine gallery to participate in the event in that country of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Praxis Gallery will present Chilean-born textile and Latin artist Josefina Concha E, as part of the gallery’s DNA is dedicated to bringing Latin American art to new horizons, and this will be her debut to the Middle Eastern public, the statement said.
The guest artist is a master of textile art who rescues centuries of Latin American heritage through a communion with craftsmanship and nature. Using elements such as skin, hair, plants and animals as initial inspiration, she has found in the thousands of layers of woven thread the possibility of painting and drawing without depending on those means, and echoing the tradition that has been transmitted through generations of women.
